Nikola Jokic Reveals Message to Nuggets During Game 3 vs. Lakers

According to Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone, superstar center Nikola Jokic was coaching his teammates down the stretch of Game 3.

"Nikola, you can't keep him down for a whole game," Malone said after Game 3. "The end of the game, him and Jamal were playing a two-man game. I have to [give] credit where credit is due. That was Nikola's call. He said on the bench, let's go to this play. Let me and Jamal play the whole side of the floor, and we'll make the right reads. We milked that down the stretch. Coach Jokic did a great job tonight."

While Jokic admitted he does not want to be a coach, he did confirm that his message to the team during Game 3 was to continue running that two-man action, saying, "We had an action that was working, and just some details that can help us get open shots."

It was a simple but effective message from Jokic during Game 3, telling his team to continue running the two-man action with himself and Jamal Murray that was generating open shots for everyone. On a night his shot was not falling at the same rate it usually does, Jokic was still able to orchestrate an effective Denver offense that picked the Lakers apart down the stretch of Game 3.

Now with a chance to close the Lakers out in Game 4, the Nuggets do not want this series to get back to Denver.
