Nikola Jokic's Status vs. Bulls Revealed

The Denver Nuggets are set to face the Chicago Bulls in a preseason game on Sunday night, and they will have finals MVP Nikola Jokic available, per Nuggets reporter Katy Winge. While Jokic is not dealing with an injury, his status for preseason games is always uncertain until shortly before game time since teams like the Nuggets often rest their star players in these exhibition matchups.

For Jokic, each preseason game is an opportunity to get back up to game speed after an interesting summer. Not only was this summer much shorter than usual for Jokic and the Nuggets since they were the last team standing, but Jokic and many of his teammates also spent much of their offseason celebrating their championship run. Also working on his game throughout the summer, Jokic was not just partying during the offseason, but it’s reasonable to assume there will be a bit of an adjustment for him as he gets back up to game speed.

It's unlikely Jokic will play big minutes in this game, but right around 20 minutes played seems to be the sweet spot for players like him during the preseason. Each preseason game is an opportunity to get in better shape with the season around the corner, so the Nuggets superstar will look to get some valuable reps in Sunday night's matchup vs. the Bulls.
