Former Indiana Pacers forward Terry Taylor re-signed with the Chicago Bulls last week.

Taylor, 23, spent the first two seasons of his career with the Pacers. He worked his way up from the G League, first signing a two-way contract before inking a two-year deal with the franchise. He averaged 6.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game for the blue and gold in 59 appearances.

His offensive rebounding skill has always stood out, and it is what got him into the NBA in the first place. Taylor is a force on the glass for his size.

The Pacers waived the young forward in February in order to facilitate a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks. Indiana needed to create roster spots in order to bring in Jordan Nwora and George Hill, so they let Taylor (as well as Goga Bitadze) go.

"I was a little upset. At the end of the day, I understand it's a business. Just take it on the chin and just keep going," Taylor said of being waived.

The Chicago Bulls scooped him up on a two-way deal not long after, waiving a different player to do so. They clearly wanted Taylor. He played in five games for Chicago last season, averaging 4.0 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.

"A guy that maybe is undersized but really is an elite rebounder considering his size," Bulls head coach Billy Donovan said of the forward.

Taylor became a free agent this summer, but last week, he agreed to return to Chicago. It is a multi-year agreement.

Keith Smith of Spotrac reported that the agreement comes with no guaranteed money, but Taylor will have $350k guaranteed if he is on the roster come opening night. He took the 15th and final spot on the Bulls roster.

Smith also relayed that it's a two-year pact. Taylor will have to continuously prove himself on the agreement.

Taylor has 64 games and nine starts under his belt in the NBA. His best game for the Pacers was a 24-point, 16-rebound effort against the Orlando Magic in February of 2022.
