INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Pacers star guard Tyrese Haliburton fell to the court in Gainbridge Fieldhouse with 3:10 to go in the second quarter of Indiana's game vs the Boston Celtics on Monday night.

The star guard did the spits and was immediately reaching for his left leg in pain. He was quickly surrounded by his teammates and some coaches, and he tried to walk but was struggling. Pacers veterans James Johnson and Buddy Hield picked Haliburton up and helped him off the court.

As the All-Star point guard was carried to the locker room, other Pacers teammates dropped towels on his head so he couldn't be seen by others in the arena. He was in considerable pain as he left the game and entered the tunnels of the stadium.

Many other Pacers players walked close behind the group that was carrying Haliburton to the locker room. It was the second time, at least, that Haliburton slipped and fell during the first half of the game, and he was visibly frustrated after the first one.

Haiburton had seven points and six assists for the Pacers at the time. He has been one of the best guards in the NBA this season and is the leader of the 20-15 Indiana squad. He entered the day averaging 24.2 points and 12.7 assists per game.

The Pacers announced during halftime that Haliburton has a left hamstring strain and won't return Monday.

Indiana is 1-2 without Haliburton this season, and he is currently the leading vote getter among fans for All-Star guards in the Eastern Conference. This story will be updated as more information is released.

The Pacers held on to win 133-131.

UPDATE: Haliburton has a Grade 1 hamstring strain and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
