Indiana Pacers vs Detroit Pistons preview: Start time, where to watch, injury report, betting odds December 11

The Pacers return to their regular schedule tonight against the Pistons

The Indiana Pacers get back to reality after their In-Season Tournament run last week with a regular season game in Detroit tonight against the Pistons. Indiana took down Detroit 136-113 back in December.

"We're going to need our young guys to be ready. The emotions of this thing are real," Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said Saturday night after the final game of the In-Season Tournament. "We go to Detroit and a team that's been on a horrific stretch of lost games, and we're going to more than have our hands full. I realize that."

The Pacers are 12-8 while the Pistons are 2-20.

Pacers vs Pistons Injury Report

For the Pacers, center Jalen Smith is out with a left knee bone bruise and left heel contusion and Andrew Nembhard is out with a right knee bone bruise. Aaron Nesmith is questionable with a right hip bruise. Kendall Brown, Isaiah Wong, and Oscar Tshiebwe are listed as questionable as a part of their two-way contract status.

For the Pistons, Marvin Bagley III is doubtful. Malcolm Cazalon, Jalen Duren, Monte Morris, Jared Rhoden, and Stanley Umude are out.

Key Matchup

Bruce Brown vs Cade Cunningham: Brown turning up the heat defensively against Cunningham was a big factor for Indiana in their victory over Detroit last month. The former Piston is a strong defender for the Pacers.

That matchup will be critical again tonight, especially after two lesser games for Brown. If he can defend at that level again while getting going on offense, the blue and gold will have a great chance to win.
