Rockets Drop 10th Consecutive Game In Loss To Nuggets

Jalen Green scored 17 points in his return from injury as the Houston Rockets dropped their 10th consecutive game in a loss to the Nuggets.

HOUSTON — Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone gave three attributes as to why the Houston Rockets are a team they cannot overlook despite their record. Tuesday night, the Nuggets took Malone's advice, which led to a 133-112 loss for the Rockets inside the Toyota Center.

The Rockets gave up 16 first-quarter points to Jamal Murray. And by halftime, Murray led all scorers with 23 points. His production led to the Rockets trailing the Nuggets 74-54 at the half.

Murray finished the night with a game-high 32 points (12-18 FG, 5-10 3PT) and six assists. Nikola Jokic recorded his 24th triple-double of the season with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

Jalen Green returned from a groin injury that sidelined him the previous two games. It was a slow start for Green. But the second-year prospect began to find his rhythm during the third quarter.

Green scored 10 points during the period and finished the night tied for a team-high 17 points on 7-of-15 shooting, 3-of-7 from behind the arc.

Daishen Nix followed up his career performance from Sunday with a 14-point performance against the Nuggets. Nix also recorded five assists, marking the sixth time he achieved the feat this season.

Tari Eason came off the bench and recorded his sixth career double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. TyTy Washington added a dozen as Houston's backup point guard.

Kevin Porter Jr. injury update:

Kevin Porter Jr. missed his 20th consecutive game due to a left toe contusion. According to coach Stephen Silas, Porter and the team are "targeting" his return for Wednesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The second double-digit losing streak of the season:

After falling to the Nuggets, the Rockets have dropped their 10th consecutive game, which marks their second double-digit losing streak of the season. Houston recorded a season-high 13 straight losses from Dec. 15 to Jan. 23.

Houston will then complete their four-game regular season series against the San Antonio Spurs in a home-and-home contest.
