OKC Thunder Land Twelfth Overall Pick in 2023 NBA Draft

In this story:
After landing the twelfth best odds for the 2023 NBA Draft Lottery via their regular season campaign, the numbers held true for the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night, where they landed the twelfth overall pick in the upcoming draft.
The Thunder had an 85 percent chance at landing twelfth, with just around an eight percent chance at landing in the top four and an even slimmer chance of moving back.
While it may not seem a lot compared to the big winners on the night, those who landed Victor Wembanyama, Scoot Henderson and more, Oklahoma City has done its fair share with the twelfth pick.
Just last year in the 2022 NBA Draft, Oklahoma City came away with Rookie of the Year runner-up Jalen Williams, who was monumental towards the teams effort in making the Play-In game.
In 2013, general manager Sam Presti and the Thunder selected center Steven Adams with the twelfth overall pick
In the five drafts since the lottery odds were flattened, no team holding the twelfth odds has had anything but the twelfth overall pick. And in 2003, Nick Collison, who represented the team at the lottery and is the only Thunder player with his number in the rafters, was drafted in the same slot.
Oklahoma City will have a wealth of prospects to choose from at No. 12, which could include Leonard Miller, Keyonte George, Rayan Rupert, Sidy Cissoko, Jordan Hawkins and more.
The 2023 NBA Draft will take kick off on June 22, 2023 at 7 p.m.
