Thunder Exercise Options on Terrence Ferguson And Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

The Oklahoma City Thunder is exercising its fourth-year contract option on guard Terrance Ferguson and its third-year contract option on guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Ferguson has appeared in 135 games (86 starts) with Oklahoma City, averaging five points on thirty-six percent shooting from three-point range to go along with one point four rebounds in twenty minutes.

The Tulsa, Okla. native became the third player in NBA history to record 24 points, and six three-pointers in his first career start on Jan. 3, 2018 at the Los Angeles Lakers. Ferguson was twenty-first overall by the Thunder in the 2017 Draft.
Gilgeous-Alexander earned All-Rookie Second Team honors this past season after appearing in 82 games (73 starts) with the Clippers and recording averages of eleven points, three assists, three rebounds, and one point one seven steals in twenty-seven minutes. SGA was named a member of the World Team for the 2019 Rising Stars Challenge. He ended the season by scoring twenty or more points in four of the last seven games while also scoring in double figures in seventeen of the final twenty games. The deadline to extend rookie options on first-round picks is October thirty-first.
