Headlined by a matchup of two rookie stars, the Thunder are looking to get another win on the road.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have won six straight games and have a chance to extend their longest winning streak since the 2018-2019 season. Meanwhile, the Spurs have lost 12 of their past 13 games, including five straight.

Of course, the meeting will be dominated by the battle of Chet Holmgren and Victor Wembanyama. Although the Spurs rookie is taking control of the Rookie of the Year race, Holmgren’s performances have led the Thunder to the top of the West.

ODDS:

The Thunder enter the day as 11.5-point favorites against the Spurs, and the total over/under is 239.5 points.

KEYS TO THE GAME:

In the most recent battle between the teams, Wembanyama and Holmgren had highlights throughout the night. Both players showed their ability to dominate in the paint and created an exciting matchup in an otherwise lopsided game.

In the first two matchups this season, Oklahoma City is 2-0 against San Antonio, winning by an average of 31 points. Although the teams’ spots in the standings explain the margin, some things outside of the rookie matchup have stood out.

The Thunder entered halftime with double-digit leads in both games, but they put the game out of reach in the third quarter. Against the Spurs, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has averaged 14.5 third-quarter points and has been the driving force in putting those games away.

As one of the best teams at forcing turnovers, the Thunder have forced the Spurs into 18 and 24 turnovers in the first two meetings. Although the game could be fun and close for some time, the Spurs are likely to beat themselves at some point.
