Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will officially join elite company when he checks into the NBA All-Star Game this weekend.

Oklahoma City has had at least one All-Star participant in 12 seasons since moving from Seattle. However that list only has four different names currently. SGA will mark his name as the fifth different player from the Thunder to play in the All Star Game.

He joins Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Chris Paul as Thunder players to be tabbed to the game. He is the first OKC player in the game since Paul earned a bid in the 2019-20 season.

Each previous All-Star from OKC returned to the game with the exception of Paul, who only played one season with the team.

Durant was an All-Star seven times in an OKC uniform including during his MVP campaign in 2014. He was the All Star Game MVP in 2012 as well.

Westbrook made eight All Star Games during his OKC stint, winning MVP of the game twice along the way. George was named an All Star in both seasons he played in OKC.

Of the five All-Stars, Gilgeous-Alexander is the third youngest to make his debut as a member of the Thunder at 24-years-old. Durant debuted in the game at 21, while Westbrook was 22 when he earned his first ASG appearance.

Gilgeous-Alexander is the newest member of elite company who continues to carve history for the young organization in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma City doesn’t have the longest list of names, though it grows considerably if Seattle All-Stars are included. But the ones they do have on the list have dominated the game, winning multiple MVPs and becoming common names on the game.
