The Oklahoma City Thunder has seen plenty of roster turnover since kicking off a rebuild in the 2019 offseason. Plenty of young players and veterans alike have found their way in and out of the program.

One player who landed with the Thunder through a trade was Kenrich Williams. He was supposed to be a trade filler and was mostly an afterthought of the Steven Adams trade, but he was never waived, cut or traded again.

Williams quickly proved himself in this Thunder system, showing his capabilities to be a true swiss army knife. He makes timely big plays and was able to keep the Thunder grounded last season when the team was without center depth, as he played small ball center and did so well.

This upcoming season will be Williams' sixth season in the NBA and fourth season under the Oklahoma City system. He's spent his entire Thunder tenure with head coach Mark Daigneualt, and, at this point, he knows the system inside and out while fitting the mold as a versatile player that fits in the system.

The near-29-year-old is a veteran and understands the system, allowing him to be a true leader within this team. He's able to provide a calming presence for a young team that often plays in clutch situations for one reason or another.

Moving forward, Williams could be the ultimate glue guy. He's got the experience, time in the system and ability to mentor young talents to fit in the system. He makes things work on both sides of the ball and, come the team's first true playoff berth, will help the team battle the ups and downs of a playoff series.

Having made it this far through the Thunder rebuild, Williams gets closer to being able to stick with the team until he retires.
