In September, teams will report to their training camps and the NBA season will be among us. As August approaches, though, betting odds for the NBA season are being released.

BetOnline released their preseason win totals to bet the over/under on, and the Oklahoma City Thunder saw a 20-game increase from their preseason total set last season.

The team saw clear progression and outperformed any standards or expectations set for them early on. Having made the Play-In Tournament, the Thunder are already ahead of schedule, but BetOnline sets their over/under win total for the season at 44 wins. To hit the over, the team would have, at minimum, a five-win jump on the season.

To reach the 45+ win threshold, the Thunder would very easily secure a playoff, not play-in, spot. However, given the context of the season, it's not out of the realm. The young guys are going to continue and expound on their game. Additions of Chet Holmgren and Vasilije Micic are going to play key roles, too.

With the Thunder getting respect from sportsbooks and national media, it's no surprise that the team is projected to land in the mid-40s win range.

If, by chance, the Thunder hit the over, this would claim their official arrival. They would be a surefire playoff team with expectations to make real postseason noise. With the team getting a taste of the postseason action last season, it would be quite entertaining to watch, too.

The team has the make and mold of a team capable of bearing the long regular season. There's a lot of depth in the locker room, and the squad is young. The Thunder will be able to roll out fresh legs on a consistent basis and it will be young guys fighting for either more minutes or a spot in the league long-term, so there will be consistently good basketball being played.

Though it's a risky bet, the Thunder have an off-chance of surpassing this total line set, but it would take a resilient season.
