The Top Three Storylines from the OKC Thunder’s 2023 Summer League

In this story:
The Oklahoma City Thunder capped a successful 2023 Summer League on Sunday, finishing up their eighth and final game versus San Antonio.
Returns were made, games were improved on and plenty of various players got run for the Thunder.
Here were the top three storylines from Oklahoma City’s Summer League slate:
Chet Holmgren Returns
Former No. 2 pick Chet Holmgren made his official return to the court at Summer League, showcasing his length, basketball IQ and stout rim-protection.
There were, of course, times that Holmgren looked like he hadn’t played organized ball in a year. But for the most part, he showed plenty of what made him a top selection in 2022.
He capped his final game with 25 points, nine rebounds and five blocks. The next time we’ll see him will likely be preseason action.
Ousmane Dieng Making Progress
The No. 11 pick in 2022, Ousmane Dieng, also got to showcase his improved game.
Dieng was understandably shaky both in Summer League and regular season action last year at just 19-years-old. This year, he showed not only his improved skill, but confidence too.
In seven games, he averaged 14.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 50 percent overall, 35. percent from beyond the arc and 77 percent from the line.
Tre Mann Gets Back in His Groove
After shaky stretches of play at various times last season, Tre Mann got back in his groove at Summer League.
His first pair of games consisted of 20 and 23 points, some of which cause the attention of the national audience.
