Thunder Projected to Take Ron Holland in New Mock Draft

In this story:
In past seasons, Thunder fans would be quite familiar with the NBA Draft pool by now. The Tankathon simulator brought a sense of familiarity for the Oklahoma City faithful, testing out possible lottery luck and where the Thunder would end up picking.
Now, NBA Draft talk is non-existent. Oklahoma City's rebuild is over, and at 31-13 and No. 1 in the Western Conference, the season at hand is the only thing fans are following.
At some point, though, Oklahoma City will have to turn its attention to the draft, even if just slightly. The Thunder could have three first round picks in the 2024 draft and two of them could be in the late lottery. It's a prime spot for Sam Presti to strike again.
In The Ringer's latest mock draft, Kevin O'Connor had the Thunder taking G League Ignite forward Ron Holland in the lottery, and it could be a perfect fit.
"Holland has a high floor because of his never-ending motor and defensive upside. But his lack of efficiency on a dreadful Ignite team is currently keeping him from being a top-five pick. Holland could very well rise up there, though, making him a steal at this point of the draft," O'Connor wrote. "Especially for the Thunder, who have had great success in developing shooters like Lu Dort and Josh Giddey. Holland may hope to go higher, but landing with OKC would be a blessing for both."
This season, Holland is averaging 19.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.4 steals. He's shooting 44.3% from the floor and 28.6% from 3-point range, which explains his fall in draft boards.
The potential is there, though, and the Thunder have room to take a home-run swing. His athleticism and size would fit in well in Oklahoma City.
