Video: Chris Paul and Other Stars Want to Resume The Season

Good News for Thunder fans, Chris Paul and his fellow NBA stars want to resume the season. In a private conference call on Monday with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Russell Westbrook, among others, all were in agreement to get back on the court as long as the proper safety precautions were in place.

There is some dispute as to whether the NBAPA is informally polling players to find out where they stand on returning to play. According to ESPN, union representatives were told by Executive Director Michelle Roberts to ask players, "Do you want to start again?"

However, The Athletic is reporting that the NBPA has released a statement saying they are not conducting an informal vote of any kind. Shams Charania says, "The NBA and NBPA are forming a working group and have a call Tuesday to discuss return-to-play strategies; the call will include NBPA president Chris Paul and players Russell Westbrook, Jayson Tatum, Kyle Lowry, Dwight Powell."

Per Yahoo, the call that took place on Monday will hold a lot of weight with the rest of the Players Association when deciding how much they want to go back to work. Starting Friday, players could lose 25 percent out of each paycheck for canceled games.

If the season does get back underway, there will not be a play-in tournament for the last postseason spot in the east or the west. Kevin O'Connor says, "A postseason play-in tournament has been weighed but is considered highly unlikely, according to multiple league sources."

"While a tournament could be attractive to fans and lucrative for the league in future seasons, it's considered too dramatic of a shift in the short term."..." The league already has its existing contracts with RSNs (regional sports networks) and national networks, so the best use of time would be fulfilling those deals rather than introducing another unknown on top of every other uncertainty the league is facing."
