What Timberwolves to watch during All-Star weekend

The Wolves will be represented by three players and their coaching staff during All-Star weekend

The Timberwolves' 128-91 win over Portland Thursday night officially rang in All-Star weekend as the final game before the break.

With Minnesota first in the Western Conference plenty of eyes will be on the Wolves representatives in Indianapolis this weekend. Three players and one coach will be representing the Wolves during All-Star weekend. Here is how and when you can watch each of them in action:

Luka Garza: NBA G-League Up Next Game

The Wolves young big man will once again feature in the G-League Up Next Game. Garza captained the winning team in the 2023 edition of the game and won MVP after scoring 23 points and grabbing eight rebounds.

This year the format has changed with four teams of seven competing in a tournament. The four teams will compete in two semifinals with the winners facing off in the finals. Teams were drafted by four 'influencer' general managers. Garza was drafted to Team Strictly.

The tournament takes place Sunday, February 18 starting at 12:30 p.m. Fans can watch the games on the G-League's YouTube channel.

Anthony Edwards: Skills Challenge & All-Star Game

Edwards was named to his second straight All-Star game, he will also take part in the Skills Challenge for the first time. Edwards is part of Team Top Picks alongside Orlando's Paulo Banchero and the Spurs' Victor Vembanyama.

The Wolves guard will be coming off the bench for the Western Conference All-Stars.

Karl-Anthony Towns: 3-point contest & All-Star Game

Towns was selected to his fourth All-Star game and will take part in the 3-point contest for the second time in his career. He became the first big man to win the contest in 2022, setting a finals record by scoring 29 of 40 points.

The Skills Challenge and 3-Point contest are part of the NBA's All-Star Saturday night that kicks off at 7 p.m. Saturday, February 17 on TNT.

Like Edwards, Towns will come off the bench for the Western Conference All-Stars.

Chris Finch - Western Conference All-Stars head coach

Finch will be just the second-ever Wolves head coach to coach in the All-Star game after Flip Saunders coached the West to a 136-132 win in 2004.

The starters for the West are Dallas' Luka Doncic, Phoenix's Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Los Angeles' LeBron James and Denver's Nikola Jokic. The All-Star Game tips off Sunday, February 18 at 7 p.m. on TNT.
