An abbreviated look at what’s going on around the NFL on Friday, Sept. 9:
• Michael Crabtree has broken his left foot twice since entering the NFL in 2009, the latest costing him this preseason. But the 49ers' wide receiver says that he's ready to go Sunday, when San Francisco hosts Seattle.
• Speaking of returns from injury, the Lions have happily welcomed back Maurice Morris after he missed most of camp with a broken hand. Morris could wind up being Detroit's No. 2 back behind Jahvid Best.
• Quentin Jammer is entering his 10th season as a San Diego Charger, and even at 32 years old, still seems capable of playing at a high level.
• Erik Lorig joined the Bucs two years ago as a defensive end and later was shifted to tight end. He'll open this season as Tampa Bay's starting fullback, with Earnest Graham taking on a third-down role.
