Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Dashon Goldson hires tackling coach to help avoid fines

Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Dashon Goldson is one of the most physically imposing safeties in the NFL, whose crunching hits helped him earn a five-year, $41.25 million deal as a free agent just one year ago. However, Goldson had better be happy that he signed a big-money deal because he has been consistently writing checks to the league office for illegal hits.

In 2013, Goldson had to shell out nearly $500,000 in fines, so he is working hard to fix his problems this offseason to avoid losing additional money.

How will Goldson go about doing that? By hiring a tackling coach to improve his form.

"Every time I hit somebody I’m getting a fine," Goldson said, via Yahoo! Sports. "I realized I have to figure something out."

Part of the problem with the illegal hits is that defensive backs have had to change the way they play over the past few seasons because of the increased enforcement and fines. After growing up playing a certain way, it isn't easy, so hiring a coach to come in and improve technique could prove to be a cost-effective move.
