The New York Jets will interview Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn on Friday, according to a report by Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

The Jets fired head coach Rex Ryan and general manager John Idzik on Monday, one day after the team finished 4-12 and missed the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season.

According to Mehta, while the Jets will interview Quinn, their preference is to hire a GM before a head coach. New York has also requested an interview with Seahawks Director of Pro Personnel Trent Kirchner and Minnesota's assistant general manager, George Paton, as candidates to replace Idzik, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

Quinn began his NFL coaching career with San Francisco in 2001, serving as the defensive quality control coach and later the defensive line coach. He served as the Jets defensive line coach from 2007-08 and has also been the defensive line coach for the Miami Dolphins and Seahawks, and has been Seattle's DC since 2013.

The 49ers have reportedly requested to also interview Quinn.

The Seahawks went 12-4 this season and have a bye in the first round of the playoffs, allowing Quinn the availability to interview on Saturday.
