Browns enter Day 2 of draft with 8 picks left

BEREA, Ohio (AP) The Browns got much bigger on the first day of the NFL draft. They've got eight more chances to get better.

Cleveland enters the draft's second day with eight more selections, including the No. 43 overall selection where they might be able to add a playmaker - or maybe a quarterback.

Browns general manager Ray Farmer didn't make any moves during Thursday's first round, using the No. 12 overall pick on Washington defensive tackle Danny Shelton and the No. 19 pick on versatile Florida State offensive lineman Cameron Erving.

Browns coach Mike Pettine acknowledged the two picks weren't the ''sexiest,'' but Cleveland beefed up both lines.

There's a good chance the Browns will use one of their next few picks on a young quarterback to develop for the future.

The draft's second and third rounds are held Friday with rounds four through seven on Saturday.
