New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith active for Week 3

Sunday September 27th, 2015

New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith is active for the Jets’ Week 3 matchup with the Eagles, the team announced Sunday.

Smith was punched by teammate IK Enemkpali over a $600 plane ticket in August and sustained a broken jaw.

He was replaced at quarterback by 11-year veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick, who will continue to start. Fitzpatrick has completed 63.8 percent of his passes in the Jets’ first two games for 423 yards and four touchdowns.

The Jets also said cornerback Darrelle Revis (groin) and Chris Ivory (quad) are active. Eric Decker (knee) is out.
