NFL Odds Week 7: Jets, Redskins, Eagles are your best bets of week
Week 7 of the NFL season is on deck and with it comes three lucrative wagering opportunities that could help line your pockets.
First place in the AFC East is up for grabs when the Patriots host the Jets at Gillette Stadium. New England has dominated every opponent this season, winning all five of their games by a touchdown or more, but there are plenty of reasons to believe that the Jets can keep this game close.
The Pats have some major concerns on their offensive line and that doesn’t bode well against a very stout New York front seven. The status of Julian Edelman (finger) isn’t helping the cause for the Patriots either.
Meanwhile, the Jets have a potent running game that should be able to exploit a Pats run defense that is among the league’s worst in terms of yards per carry. New York is catching ten points at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com and that’s simply too many points for a Jets squad that is 4-0 against the spread in their last four divisional games and 4-0 against the spread in their last four road games.

In a less appealing matchup, the 2-4 Redskins play host to the 2-3 Buccaneers. Don’t let these records fool you though—Washington is a much better squad than Tampa Bay.
The Bucs are coming off a bye week, but that doesn’t necessarily translate to success, as evidenced by Tampa’s 2-9 straight up mark in their 11 road games after the bye since 1991 according to the OddsShark NFL Database.
The Bucs' offensive line has struggled in pass protection all season long and they’ll battle a Redskins defense that is far more robust than they’re given credit. The point spread in this matchup implies that these teams are even, but we don’t believe that to be the case. Lay the field goal with the home team.
In our final play of the week, we’ll look to play against a team that’s in an obvious letdown spot. The Panthers kept their perfect record intact with a come-from-behind victory over the Seahawks last week. Carolina has struggled mightily against Seattle for the past few seasons, which makes last week’s victory all the more sweet.
We expect them to come out flat against an Eagles squad that is looking better as of late. The Eagles are 4-1 straight up and against the spread in their last five games against the Panthers, and we’ll look to grab the field goal on the road with Philadelphia.
