The New York Jets will sign former Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars running back Bernard Pierce, reports Mike Garafolo of NFL.com.

Pierce played just seven games last season with the Jaguars before he was placed on the injured reserve with a calf injury.

Prior to his stint with the Jaguars, Pierce spent three seasons with the Ravens. Over the course of his career, Pierce has rushed for 1,345 yards and five touchdowns.

The Jets currently have injury concerns at the running back position with backups Zac Stacy and Khiry Robinson returning from broken bones. Garafolo reports that the team plans to waive Stacy with a failed physical designation.

Pierce will serve a two-game suspension at the start of the upcoming season after pleading guilty to a DUI charge last October.
