Vikings Receiver KJ Osborn Helped Save Man From Burning Car
Vikings wide receiver KJ Osborn made an appearance on The Adam Schefter Podcast on Monday, sharing details of his heroic actions over the weekend during which he and three other individuals rescued a man from a burning car in Austin.
During his sit-down with Schefter, Osborn said he was on his phone in an Uber when his driver alerted him to a wrecked car on the side of the road. The two rushed over to the car, which was engulfed in flames, in order to attempt to remove the individual from inside.
"I ran up, we initially pulled him out the car, the car's burning up, it's in flames. He has blood on him, he's bleeding...," said Osborn. “We get him out the car… And that’s when I picked him up. And he’s bleeding all over my shirt. I pick him up, and I carry him about 10–15 yards… by then the ambulance came.”
Osborn took to Twitter and shared a few photos from the harrowing scene, including one of a completely scorched car, shining some light on just how bad the flames were.
He also wrote a statement in which he described the situation as himself (and the three other heroes) as being in the "right place at the right time."
“Last night myself and these 3 absolute hero’s [sic] helped save a mans [sic] life by rescuing him from a vehicle up in flames after a bad crash. A situation I’d never imagine being apart of in a million years,” wrote Osborn on Twitter.
The Minnesota wide receiver indicated that the latest he heard is that the victim of the crash is doing okay, dealing with some minor injuries including one to his ankle.
