Sauce Gardner Deleted His ‘X’ Account Following Loss to Cowboys

The heat surrounding the Jets after Sunday’s rough loss to the Cowboys appeared to be enough to influence star cornerback Sauce Gardner to take a break from social media.

Gardner, whose Jets lost 30–10, raised eyebrows online by deleting his account on X (formerly Twitter) in the aftermath of the Week 2 loss.

While the exact reason for his decision is currently unclear, one of Gardner’s last posts indicates it may have been a response to the criticism he and his team faced over the performance of Ceedee Lamb. The star receiver finished with a game-high 11 receptions (on 11 targets) for 143 yards, a standout effort Gardner claimed he wasn’t at fault for.

“Damnn y’all really love sayin’ my name on this app lol. He didn’t catch a ball on me today. Source: Me,” wrote Gardner.

Despite the Jets now being 1–1, it appears Gardner and, at least, a few Jets fans have already found themselves at odds after a hectic first two weeks headlined by the loss of Aaron Rodgers (Achilles).

A first-team All-Pro as a rookie in 2022, Gardner, the Defensive Rookie of the Year, finished Sunday’s game with four tackles.
