Jim Harbaugh Loves His New Job

The new Chargers coach is "locked, cocked and ready to rock."

The Los Angeles Chargers are undefeated in the Jim Harbaugh era. Sure, they won't play their first game for another five months, but you can't argue with the results so far and Harbaugh is loving every moment. Harbaugh addressed the media on Monday as offseason workouts were starting and told everyone just how well things have been going.

"They've been great. This is just true, it's been the best damn job I've ever had to start out with," he said Tuesday via the team's official transcript. "I hope that it ends that way, but it's been a tremendous start. Hiring coaches, free agency -- that's not just one day, that goes for a while -- getting ready for the draft. Really excited about the coaching staff and the amount of work that has been produced over the last month-and-a-half. It's been a lot, they've done a great job. It's been locked, cocked, ready to rock, just needed the players to come in, and we got that today. It's been really good."

Locked, cocked and ready to rock. Exactly what you want to hear from a new hire. And for him to say that it's the best job ever? He's as enthusiastic as he is committed to khakis. It's the kind of thing that changes a culture. That and memorable quotes like "The back is just an untapped gold mine of lean muscle mass" and "What's good for the bee is good for the hive." This is exactly what you expect when you hire Jim Harbaugh.

After just one day, new tight end Hayden Hurst is already favorably comparing playing for Harbaugh to playing for his brother John Harbaugh, the coach of the Baltimore Ravens.

"We want to out-physical teams. We want teams to fear us. We want teams to end up giving up in the fourth quarter where we're just hitting our stride."

Just wait until Harbaugh gets these guys in pads and has a chance to speak in front of a full locker room.
