Brandon McManus' message to Denver Broncos fans was poignant.

Last week, the Denver Broncos released kicker Brandon McManus, who happened to be the last member of the team's Super Bowl 50 championship roster. He signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars shortly after being jettisoned.

The Jaguars reportedly signed McManus to a one-year deal worth $2.35 million, which was about half of what he was set to earn in Denver in 2023. As the dust of the sudden release began to settle, McManus sent a message to Broncos Country on his way out of the Mile High City in a statement published by The Denver Post.

"I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support you have shown me and my family over the past 9 years. Your unwavering support, relentless cheers, and unconditional love has been the driving force behind my time as a Denver Bronco. The electrifying atmosphere at Empower Field, with its sea of orange and deafening roar, is something that will forever be etched in my heart. Each time I stepped onto the field, I was filled with a sense of awe and inspiration, ready to make the game winning kick.

"But it's not just the game that has made our time in Denver so special. It is the incredible sense of community and the genuine warmth that emanates from this city. You have embraced my family as your own, providing tireless support and love in every step of our journey. The friendships we have forged and the connections we have made will forever hold a cherished place in our hearts. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for making Denver feel like home."

Broncos Country, no doubt, wishes nothing but the best for 'The Kid' McManus. He was a part of some seminal moments in Broncos canon, some of which were indelibly linked to him.

Nothing lasts forever, though, and while the Broncos continue their search for McManus' permanent replacement, he begins a new chapter on the East Coast. Happy trails.
