Trade Prediction Has Broncos Sending WR Jerry Jeudy to Browns

Jeudy is entering the final year of his rookie deal.

Jerry Jeudy has played his final game in a Denver Broncos uniform — that is, per Bleacher Report's Alex Kay, who predicted the enigmatic wide receiver will be traded to the Cleveland Browns this offseason for a 2024 second-round draft pick.

"The Cleveland Browns may still be willing to part with at least one selection to snatch Jeudy away from the Mile High City," Kay wrote Tuesday. "According to ESPN's Jeff Legwold, the Browns made 'multiple runs at acquiring Jeudy' in 2023 and could once again push to acquire the pass-catcher.

"If the Broncos are willing to take a Day 2 selection—Cleveland has decent picks in the second (No. 54) and third (No. 86) rounds—for Jeudy, the cash-strapped organization can shed some salary and get some much-needed capital back."

Selected 15th overall in 2020, Jeudy has yet to live up to his billing with the Broncos, totaling 211 receptions for 3,053 yards — a 59.3% catch rate — and only 11 touchdowns across 57 appearances.

In 2023, Jeudy found pay dirt just twice and failed to eclipse 100 receiving yards in any of his 16 appearances. Despite playing second-fiddle to WR Courtland Sutton, the Broncos resisted the urge to deal Jeudy away before October's trade deadline.

“He’s an important part and an important piece of what we’re doing. ... When we’re talking about Jerry, shoot, he’s a guy that we think is dynamic," head coach Sean Payton said on Nov. 6.

Jeudy, 24, is entering the fifth and final year of his rookie contract, due to collect $12.987 million in fully guaranteed base salary. Denver, which is currently $30.173 million over the salary cap, can save that same amount by shipping him elsewhere, leaving behind no dead money.

For a strapped club likely aiming to stockpile capital, trading Jeudy makes sense both fiscally and managerially. As for the prospect of changing hats, he's apathetic — to say the least.

“I don’t give a f*** about none of that," Jeudy said last week.
