Broncos Bring Back WR Nick Williams Ahead of Training Camp

He lands in an ultra-deep receiver room.

After a cup of coffee last month, Nick Williams is back for a second stint with the Denver Broncos, who re-signed the rookie wide receiver on Tuesday, the team announced.

The Broncos also signed kicker Brett Maher and waived quarterback Jarrett Guarantano in corresponding roster moves.

Undrafted out of UNLV, where he tallied 28 catches for 436 yards and two touchdowns in 2022, Williams initially joined Denver's offseason roster on June 5 but was waived eight days later to make room for new outside linebacker Frank Clark.

The 6-foot-4 Aurora native and Cherry Creek High School grad began his collegiate career at CSU-Pueblo, totaling 107 receptions for 1,428 yards and nine TDs across 35 games.

Assuming he sticks around through training camp, which kicked off Wednesday, Williams will attempt to crack a crowded Broncos WR room that's flush with both top starters (Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick, Marvin Mims) and key reserves (KJ Hamler, Montrell Washington, Kendall Hinton, Lil'Jordan Humphrey).

“Yeah, it’s definitely a good problem," offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi said on June 5 of the club's wideout depth. "They’re all big, they all run routes well, and they have good hands. [I’m] really excited about the skill set that room has. They’ve been working really hard out here. Hopefully, there’s enough love to spread around to all those guys. I think as long as we’re moving the ball and scoring points, we can keep everyone happy.”
