As the Russell Wilson saga continues to drag along across the beginning of this offseason for the Denver Broncos, the speculation and predictions for where the 9x Pro Bowler will end up landing for next season have followed with it.

While numerous potential spots have already begun being mentioned early on, it's remained pretty fluid, considering Russell Wilson is still a current member of the Broncos. If his decision to put up his Denver mansion for sale shows anything, though, he may not be wearing the orange and blue much longer.

Quarterback-needy teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcons, and Las Vegas Raiders have all become broadly pinned as candidates who could utilize Wilson's services. However, former New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum had an eye-catching take on where he believes the 2013 Super Bowl champion should land.

Tannenbaum was a part of ESPN's Get Up on Monday, firing off an intriguing team that he thinks would be an ideal fit for Russell Wilson this offseason, coincidentally being the team he worked for, the Jets.

"I think [Russell Wilson] would actually be a great fit with the New York Jets, and here's why. Pay him a million dollars and let him resurrect his career. I actually have experience with this. Vinny Testaverde got cut by the Baltimore Ravens; we signed him in June and went to the championship game that year. Where else is he going to go? He has to resurrect his career, so if you have to sit for a year, why not sit behind one of the greatest of all time and be a free agent again?"

When going down the list of suitors who could bring in Russ, the Jets don't stick out as a team that would be at the forefront. The plan in New York has remained consistent with ultimately bringing Aaron Rodgers back under center once fully healed from his devastating Week One Achilles injury. On the surface, 36-year-old Russell Wilson does not seem like he would be the most fitting man for the job.

Still, Tannenbaum advocates that Wilson's landing in New York could be just what the veteran quarterback needs to get back on his feet as a starting-caliber player. After his tumultuous past season under Sean Payton in Denver, the prospects of finding a place as a surefire weekly starter have begun to be in question. As a result, getting a year with Robert Saleh and Rodgers could act as a remedy for the later years of his career.

In the 15 games he played in Denver with Payton, Wilson posted 3,070 yards alongside 26 touchdowns and eight picks. It was a step in the right direction from his prior season paired with Nathaniel Hackett, but Russ still may need to show a bit more before a team can sustain confidence as him being a reliable starting QB across a complete 18-week season. In the eyes of Tannenbaum, the Big Apple may be the place to do so.

As we continue to navigate the depths of the NFL offseason, seeing where Russ ends up to start the first week of the 2024 season will be one of the most intriguing storylines to follow.
