WATCH: Broncos' LB Alexander Johnson Picks Off Philip Rivers In End Zone

The second-year linebacker got his first career interception in L.A.

The Denver Broncos' defense has made a massive statement in L.A., shutting out Philip Rivers and company. With the Los Angeles Chargers trying to capitalize on a Joe Flacco interception, Rivers faced a 3rd-&-Goal situation.

Fortunately for Denver, linebacker Alexander Johnson jumped in front of Rivers' target, picking off the pass and giving the Broncos back the ball. The Chargers were held out of the end zone once again.

As a team, the Broncos were pitching a shutout until a breakdown in punt coverage led to a 68-yard Desmond King return for a touchdown. But that doesn't take away from how good this Broncos' defense has been today.

Johnson is seeing significant time on defense and it's paid off for him and the team. He's got six tackles to go along with his interception.

Josey Jewell was forced to miss another game with his injured hamstring but when his replacement balls out, it mitigates the sting.
