5 ways Drew Lock showed improvement in Broncos' preseason Game 2 at Seattle

There was a lot of hand-wringing in and around the Mile High City, in regards to Drew Lock, following the Hall of Fame Game. The Broncos' rookie second-rounder completed 7-of-11 passes in his NFL debut, but he looked a little bit behind the curve.
In the Broncos' second preseason game vs. the Seattle Seahawks, Lock would get an even bigger cut of the playing-time pie, going from the top of the second quarter through the end of the game.
Long story short, he looked way better than he did in the preseason opener. Though it was far from perfect, the rookie signal-caller went 17-of-28 for 180 yards, with one touchdown, one interception and one converted two-point attempt.
He showed marked improvement in multiple areas of his game. Today, I'm articulating the exact five ways Lock showed development in his second NFL game.
“The offense made some plays tonight! You wish that when you’re in the red zone, you’d be one hundred percent and score touchdowns, which is what we are going to work on this week honestly, being perfect in the red zone," Lock said following the game on Thursday night. "I think we moved the ball a little bit tonight but I’m upset we didn’t come out with a win.”
The Broncos came up short 22-14 in Seattle. But despite being down 16 points in the fourth quarter, Lock still had a chance to tie late in the game.
After closing the gap by half, the Broncos trailed by eight points with under three minutes to go, starting from his own 24-yard line. Lock began to move the ball but when he missed a blitzing defensive back and was hit as he threw, the ball sailed and was intercepted, essentially ending the Broncos' hopes of a comeback.
But that's how a young QB learns. Through trial and error. Lock will be better for it and with the huge infusion of confidence he feels coming out of the Seattle game, look for him to build on his encouraging performance vs. San Francisco.
