Broncos announce new deal with Empower Retirement to sponsor Mile High Stadium

Empower Field at Mile High.
Get used to that name rolling off your tongue, as the Denver Broncos just agreed to a 21-year deal to name their stadium just that.
This agreement runs through 2039 and is technically pending approval from the Metropolitan Football Stadium District. But I wouldn't worry about any hangups.
"We are proud to reach an agreement on a long-term naming rights deal between the Broncos and Empower Retirement," Broncos' CEO Joe Ellis said via statement. "Empower is a thriving—and growing—hometown company that has been a valued team partner since our Super Bowl season in 2015. Most importantly, we've enjoyed a genuine working relationship with Empower for a number of years because they are simply great at what they do."
Ellis continued, "The Broncos and Empower Retirement share many of the same values, especially a commitment to innovation, a focus on community engagement and a desire to be the very best. It’s exciting to now call Empower Field at Mile High the home of the Denver Broncos—and many other world-class events—well into the future.”
Empower are the nation’s second-largest retirement plan provider, and are headquartered in metro Denver. Empower Field at Mile High will not only serve as the home of the Broncos but also more than 300 other events annually, including major concerts, international sporting matches, festivals and conventions.
The Broncos' home tradition is a storied one. Since opening in 2001, the Broncos’ state-of-the-art stadium has sold out every possible game (153) as part of the team’s NFL-record 403-game, 50-year sellout streak that began in 1970.
That's an amazing distinction, especially in light of how it endured through the Vance Joseph depredations. The Broncos' home sell-out streak was of the reasons why we've all scratched our heads that it took the Broncos so long to find a stadium naming rights partner after Sports Authority went bankrupt.
With questions about team ownership and recent lawsuits attacking the Joe Ellis-presided Pat Bowlen Trust — it's good for optics for the Broncos to finally get a stadium partner. Check this off the list of pressing issues for Ellis and the team's business executives.
Now, if the Broncos can get back to the business of winning under the leadership of John Elway and Vic Fangio, all would be right with the world in the Mile High City.
The Broncos will take the field for the season opener on Monday night vs. the Oakland Raiders. The Broncos' home opener will be the following week vs. the Chicago Bears.
