Report: Broncos waive three more players who made initial roster

The Denver Broncos are still maneuvering in an effort to forge the best opening week roster they can. On the heels of claiming former L.A. Rams QB Brandon Allen off waivers, the Broncos have themselves waived three players who made the initial roster out of camp.

Per Mike Klis, the Broncos have waived WR River Cracraft, OL Jake Rodgers, and LB Josh Watson.

I would expect that the Broncos will want each of the three on the practice squad, if they clear waivers but Klis reports Watson is wanted still by the team 'no doubt'. It's a tough break for these three young players but it's one we saw coming.

On Saturday evening, Mile High Huddle reported that four players who made the initial roster were unsafe. Of those four players Erick Trickel pinpointed, three were waived on Sunday.

It'll be interesting to see how the Broncos plan to deal with their punt returner situation with Cracraft off the roster, but the waiver claim of Dionte Spencer is likely the answer. We know that with the Broncos rekindling things with Corey Nelson, Watson's roster spot will be put to good use.

The Broncos have added an additional offensive lineman off waivers in Corey Levin but he's strictly a center. For now, the swing tackle will be Elijah Wilkinson.

Things are moving fast and anything we pick up on the news wire we'll pass on to you posthaste. Keep it here.
