The Cleveland Browns had multiple players into Berea for visits and workouts Wednesday. Noah Weiskopf reported that free agent running back Darrell Henderson and quarterback Todd Centreio out of James Madison in for visits. Brad Stainbrook of the Orange and Brown Report is reporting that Max Borghi worked out for the Browns as well.

Borghi most recently played for the XFL's Houston's Roughnecks and played collegiately at Washington State. Why that could be of interest to the Browns is both the Cougars and the Roughnecks ran spread offenses. Borghi spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos, but as an undrafted free agent, but the spread has been home for Borghi.

The Browns have every intention of incorporating more spread looks into their offense. It caters to quarterback Deshaun Watson's strengths and the Browns brought in Brad Musgrave as a senior offensive assistant who is well versed in spread concepts having both coached with Chip Kelly with the Philadelphia Eagles and run the spread at Cal in his most recent stop.

Borghi has plenty of experience catching passes out of the backfield. At Washington State, he had 86 receptions in 2019. This past XFL season, he caught 21 passes for 139 yards in eight games. Both of those could make Borghi appealing to the Browns.

Regardless of whether it's Borghi, Darrell Henderson or someone else, the Browns continue to look for more running back competition. The only running back the Browns have added so far this offseason is undrafted rookie Hassan Hall out of Georgia Tech.
