The Browns wouldn’t have won Sunday against the Colts without big performances from Myles Garrett and Dustin Hopkins — and both players were recognized Wednesday by the league for posting incredible games.

The NFL announced Wednesday that Garrett was the AFC Defensive Player of the Week and Hopkins was the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 7. Garrett notched nine tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles and a blocked field goal to surge the Browns to a 39-38 win. His second forced fumble was recovered by the Browns in the end zone for a touchdown.

Hopkins, meanwhile, set an NFL record by making a field goal over 50 yards in his fifth consecutive game. He was also the Special Team Player of the Week in Week 6 when he nailed four field goals to lift the Browns in an upset win against the 49ers.

Garrett won the honor for the third time in his career and first since 2021. Hopkins became the fifth kicker since 2016 to win the award in back-to-back weeks, adding his name to a list that included Daniel Carlson (2021), Justin Tucker (2019), Stephen Hauschka (2017) and Matt Prater (2016). It’s his fifth Special Teams Player of the Week award.

The Browns had two AFC player of the week winners in the same week just once before, when LB Pepper Johnson (defensive) and punt returner Eric Metcalf (special teams) won after Week 8 in 1994.
