Odell Beckham Jr. Unlikely To Sign With Browns, Per Source

Odell Beckham Jr. isn't expected to sign with the Browns this off-season, according to a source. My understanding is that while nothing can be said for certain, a potential return to the Browns is considered pretty slim, but not completely ruled out.

Odell Beckham Jr., the former Brown, is likely not returning to Cleveland this off-season for a second stint with the team.

Beckham Jr. was traded to Cleveland during the 2019 off-season in a blockbuster move. Former General Manager John Dorsey and the Browns sent New York a first-round pick, a third-round pick and safety Jabrill Peppers in exchange for the wide receiver.

In his first season with the Browns, Beckham Jr. tallied 74 catches for 1,035 yards and four touchdowns.

The following year, in 2020, Beckham Jr. suffered a torn ACL during the middle of the season during a game in Cincinnati.

Then shortly following his return to the field in Cleveland, Beckham Jr's. father, Odell Beckham Sr. released a video of all the times his son was wide open and former quarterback Baker Mayfield missed him.

This was the beginning of the end for Beckham Jr's. time in Cleveland. He was released by the team shortly after. He then went on to sign with the Los Angeles Rams to finish out the 2021 campaign in hopes of making a Super Bowl.

That's exactly what they did, and Beckham Jr. was actually well on his way to a Super Bowl MVP award until he tore his ACL yet again in the second quarter.

His second ACL surgery reportedly fixed a bad surgery he received the first time around.

Now, Beckham Jr. is a free agent and ready to sign with another NFL organization and play the 2023 season.

Beckham Jr. hosted a private workout for NFL teams to attend in Arizona to showcase his skills and prove he's ready to make his long-awaited return.

The Browns were one of the teams represented in Arizona watching Beckham Jr. and they were doing their due diligence on the 3x Pro Bowler.

Cleveland maintained a good relationship with Beckham Jr. through the drama at the end of his tenure with the Browns, according to Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot.

There are several teams currently interested in Beckham Jr's. services, however, I'm told it isn't likely the Browns actually make the move.

The option to play with Deshaun Watson in Cleveland would likely appeal to Beckham Jr. but there are multiple other teams that make more sense. Again, don't completely rule out a return to Cleveland, but don't expect one either.
