Cleveland Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski spoke to the media today immediately after the team concluded its final practice of training camp. During his availability he was asked about the depth chart at quarterback.

He said that Josh Dobbs would be first up off of the bench in Kansas City in relief of Deshaun Watson. He didn't stop there and also confirmed that the plan is for Dobbs to be the backup moving forward.

This will end any speculation of Dobbs being a potential roster cut and the team making rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson the primary backup. Thompson-Robinson has drawn a lot of buzz for his stellar play so far in the preseason.

In regard to the overall room, Stefanski said, "we really like that quarterback room, just in total." He added, "we are really excited about where all of those guys are, and confident in all the backups, think they play a huge role in that room."

For the Browns, there is no need to rush things in regard to the rookie. Dobbs will play a crucial role in the room grooming DTR but also assisting Watson in his preparation before and deciphering defenses in game.

Perhaps this could change in the future if a team were to call about Dobbs before the trade deadline as most teams aren't looking to bring in a new quarterback now, with the season just a little over two weeks away. Stefanski also said that he expects Thompson-Robinson to finish the game, giving us all a chance to to hopefully see him play his last snap of the year.
