Browns' Tight End David Njoku Having a Career Year

In this story:
In 2017 the Cleveland Browns traded back into the end of the first round to pick number 29 to take tight end David Njoku out of Miami.
Since the 2017 season, there has been so much change in Cleveland. The Browns have had seven quarterbacks, four head coaches and three general managers. One of the very few constants in orange and brown has been Njoku.
His role in Cleveland has been an interesting one. He has proven to be a very good blocking tight end and has been an extension of the offensive line. His hands were not the best early on but he continued to develop them to become not only one of the best blocking tight ends but a threat in the passing game.
Njoku has now arrived as a legitimate threat for the Browns offense. He is a matchup nightmare and he has become Mr. Reliable when catching the football.
So far in 2023, Njoku has 39 catches for 377 yards and two touchdowns. While those numbers are not jaw-dropping, he is on pace to shatter his career highs.
In his most recent performance Sunday against Baltimore, Njoku sparked the Browns' comeback with a play that was pure toughness. He caught a standard stick route which would have been a five-yard gain, but decided to go his own version of "Beast-Mode".
He turned over his left shoulder and went to work. A diving attempt by linebacker Roquan Smith came up short and The Chief was one-on-one with safety Geno Stone.
Stone was in the wrong place at the wrong time as he made contact with Njoku at the 42 yard line. He was then taken for a ride all the way to the 28 yard line before wrestling Njoku to the ground.

Njoku is the heart and soul of this Browns football team. He is getting the opportunity to do more than just impact the game as a blocker and is a welcomed addition to this offense.
Njoku was built for AFC North Football and will be a big reason why this Cleveland Browns team is a contender to make a deep playoff push.
