According to reports the Cleveland Browns worked out running back Kylin Hill today. Hill was a seventh-round pick by the Green Bay Packers in the 2021 draft.

In my opinion, Hill is an interesting player for what the Browns currently need as someone who could be the third back on the depth chart while having some upside. His draft class was a loaded one for the running back position. He spent time at Mississippi State in the Mike Leach offense, helping to develop him as a pass catcher out of the backfield.

Hill (5'10", 214 lbs) has good size and his athletic testing was good for  speed and explosion metrics and below average for agility. I thought coming out that he was pretty versatile and would fit what the Browns like to do. He displayed good vision and ran with toughness while demonstrating above average contact balance.

It's hard to say what exactly happened during his two seasons with the Packers as he only managed 11 carries for 31 yards during his time on a depth chart behind Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon. He was eventually released late in the year last season and it seems there may have been maturity and possible off field stuff going on that caused him to lose favor with the coaching staff.

He was a productive back at Mississippi State where in his best year in 2019, he rushed for over 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns. He opted out of the 2020 Covid season.
