Former Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt is reportedly visiting the New Orleans Saints today according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

For Hunt, this could end his free agency waiting game that he and many other veteran running backs are forced to play these days. For many Browns fans, it came as a surprise that Kareem hasn't been signed by anyone to this point and have clamored to bring him back on a cheaper deal to backup Nick Chubb.

While the Browns have seemed open to the idea of bringing Hunt back publicly, the writing has been on the wall that the team was committed to moving on. As a fan, it's easy to want a guy like Hunt back on your team. I mean the guy fights for every blade of grass he can get, on every run. Couple that with a willing and positive attitude and the fact that he is from Cleveland, we should be looking at a Brown for life right?

Well for the Browns and particularly Andrew Berry, the evaluation needs to run deeper. And when you take a deeper look, what you really find is a running back who is another year older, that has already lost a step and has become more frequently injured. When you look even further, you have to consider the transition that the scheme of the offense will make, going to more 11 personnel, out of the gun and pistol formations.

Consider also that there was very little evaluation needed and that for Berry and the scouting department, they believe they have better suited player already on the roster in second year rusher Jerome Ford. Check out Pete Smith's latest article on Jerome Ford here.

New Orleans could be a good fit for Hunt depending on what he is looking for. They will be without their star running back Alvin Kamara for the first three games of the year due to his recent suspension. When he comes back, things could get a little crowded due to them also having Jamaal Williams after signing him to a three year deal when free agency began. Who knows how it will all play out or if he even signs there, but whatever happens, I think we all wish him the best.
