Myles Garrett Weighs In On COVID-19, Rips Prototype Face Shield

Myles Garrett answered a few questions regarding concerns over COVID-19 in a conference call on Thursday. The Cleveland Browns newly enriched defensive end addressed the issue from a number of different angles, running the gamut.
On one hand, he believes they can find a way to play this season. On the other, when he was asked about his concerns, he immediately noted the various things the NFLPA is asking for and potential stumbling blocks that need to be addressed to do it safely. He also ripped the new face shield prototype that has been on social media the last few days.
While Garrett believes that the NFL can find a way to play, he thought the concept of face shielding was unrealistic and wouldn't do much. He also made a dig at the banned jersey swapping.
Garrett's almost went as far as saying there are so many bodily fluids exchanged on a field that it wouldn't matter, but caught himself and substituted contagions for bodily fluids. Spit, sweat, blood ending up in various places because of tackles, hand fighting and ultimately piles of bodies.
The overarching point from Garrett was that the NFL and the NFLPA have to take every bit of this seriously if they hope to be successful.
Garrett appears to be taking the position that the virus simply can't be in a position where it can get to the players, so that extra precautions and additional equipment are unnecessary. That would require significant testing and potentially quarantining the team from the general population to ensure.
