Former Buccaneers Wide Receiver Hints At Retirement From The NFL After 15-Year Career

There comes a day in every football player's life when it's time to hang up the cleats for good. For some, that comes at the conclusion of high school or college while others are able to parlay their talents into a long career in the NFL.
Veteran wide receiver Desean Jackson has spent 15 years in the league with six different franchises. After suiting up for the Baltimore Ravens and recording a career-low 153 receiving yards in 2022, he's yet to sign a deal with a team this offseason.

On Sunday, Jackson took to social media to hint at his possible retirement from the NFL.
"Did it my way 15 years strong!! Neva anotha like it!"
Jackson was originally selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played for the Eagles for six seasons before moving on to Washington for three years.
In 2017, Jackson inked a three-year/$33.5 million deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He developed into an instant deep threat alongside Mike Evans for the quarterback combination of Jameis Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick. Jackson caught 91 passes for 1,442 yards (15.8 YPC) and seven touchdowns over two seasons with the franchise.
The California native was traded to the Eagles for a second stint in 2019. He also spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, and Ravens over the past couple of years.
During his illustrious career, Jackson has totaled 641 receptions for 11,263 yards with 58 receiving touchdowns. He also rushed 72 times for 463 yards and four more scores. Jackson recorded 39 career games of 100+ yards in his 15 years, including four in Tampa Bay.
