Official: Pete Carroll Coached Final Seahawks Game vs Cardinals

ARIZONA -- The final week of the NFL regular season often brings confusion and sometimes discrepancy in terms of futures - look no further than the Week 18 battle between the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks.
While the Cardinals are far out of the postseason picture, Seattle could still get in with a win at State Farm Stadium and some other help later today.
They won't know their fate until the clock hits zero - and that could also go for their head coach moving into 2024.
NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported earlier today the Seahawks could be in a position of change if head coach Pete Carroll retires after this season, which apparently is gaining smoke in Seattle:
"The Seahawks always are evaluating and updating contingency plans in the event longtime coach Pete Carroll, now 72 years old, decides to walk away.
"Seahawks chair Jody Allen usually meets with Carroll and general manager John Schneider in the days after the season concludes -- which could be extended by a playoff run, with a win Sunday over the Cardinals plus a Packers loss to the Bears gets Seattle in -- any decisions will wait until then.
"Carroll is under contract through 2024, with an option for 2025 that can be exercised in the offseason."
Carroll first began his NFL coaching career joining the Buffalo Bills' staff in 1984. Since, he's won over 160 games including a Super Bowl and was also named to the league's 2010's All Decade Team.
