CeeDee Pee: Lamb Drug Test Ordered by NFL After Cowboys 'Surreal' 227-Yard Performance

CeeDee Pee: Lamb Drug Test Ordered by NFL After Dallas Cowboys 'Surreal' 227-Yard Performance

On Saturday night, Dallas Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb showed the NFL world why he deserves to be in the conversation for best receiver in the game with a performance so good that the NFL wants him tested.

"Waste no time, huh?'' Lamb wrote on social media following the 20-19 win, putting on display the NFL order waiting in his locker informing him that he's "been selected'' to be randomly tested.

With the Cowboys desperately needing a win against another playoff team in the Detroit Lions, Lamb went off for the best game of his career so far to help Dallas win in wild fashion

The former first-round pick out of Oklahoma caught 13 passes for 227 yards, both career-highs, and scored the game's first touchdown on an amazing 92-yard pass from quarterback Dak Prescott, the longest touchdown in the NFL this season.

"It's a surreal moment for me,'' Lamb said of his history-making work. "Shout out to my guys, we continue to work, continue to build and continue to grow. I wouldn't be able to do any of this without them. We're looking forward to keeping it going."

And what is that history? Lamb wrote his name into the Cowboys' record books. With 122 receptions and 1,651 yards on the season, Lamb surpassed Michael Irvin's single-season franchise records of 111 receptions and 1,603 yards. Both of those came in 1995, which was coincidentally the last time Dallas won the Super Bowl.

The records don't even stop there, though. Lamb's 92-yard reception was the second-longest in Cowboys history, only beaten by a 95-yard score by Bob Hayes in 1966. Additionally, Lamb recorded the first 200-yard game by a Cowboys receiver since Amari Cooper did it in October of 2019.

Lamb already led the league in receptions coming into Saturday's game, but he also surpassed Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill for first in receiving yards. Granted, Hill will probably take that lead back on Sunday as he's only 10 yards behind, but the fact that Lamb has surpassed Hill at all with the kind of season he's having is truly impressive.

The Cowboys star also moved into third-most receiving touchdowns with 10, tying Denver Broncos wideout Courtland Sutton. He has also scored a touchdown in eight straight games, the longest active streak in the NFL.

With the tear that Lamb has been on lately, it's hard to believe that he was unhappy with the lack of touches earlier in the season. Shows how quickly things can change in the NFL - almost as quickly as the NFL can type up a letter.
