Cowboys 1-on-1: New daddy Tyrone Crawford is having a 'blessed' week

FRISCO - Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford is in a jovial mood this week for professional and personal reasons. He's off the PUP list and back on the practice field here at The Star in Frisco. More important, he and wife Kelsey are parents to their second daughter, Kali Kay Lynn Crawford, born on Thursday.
When I asked him about being happy about the first news, he assumed I was talking about the second.
"We're having another baby!'' Crawford told me when I issued him a congratulations. "How did you know?''
Of course, I didn't. My congrats were about his return to health following a shoulder issue. But yeah, in addition to Crawford and DeMarcus Lawrence joining the Hot Boyz for workouts this week (readying for the season opener between the Giants and Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on Sunday), there is nothing that buoys a guy quite like fatherhood.
So welcome to the world Mia's new baby sister, Kali.
"She's healthy and the mother is healthy,'' Crawford told me. "It's been awesome. Mia was super-excited. We're getting her acclimated to babies. She's super-excited and super-gentle. This is a great week .. The blessings are fun.''
Crawford recently spoke to a couple of media members on the subject of his brawl in Florida, which so far has not resulted in NFL punishment.
“I am going to let God take it,” Crawford said. “I can’t speak on it too much. I am going to let God take it and handle everything. However it works out, it works out. Hopefully, they see my side.
"I am trying to put it past me and maintain my focus on football.”
Well, and on family, too.
