Report: Cowboys Amari Cooper Set To Return To Action Next Week

FRISCO - After an offseason full of issues with his foot, Amari Cooper is set to return to practice as soon as next week according to DallasCowboys.com columnist, Mickey Spagnola.
The news couldn't have come at a better time for the Cowboys, who will now be heading into next week's season-opening matchup with the New York Giants at full strength in their wide receiver unit.
Cooper has been hampered throughout camp with minor foot injuries, with diagnoses ranging from plantar fasciitis to an 'intrinsic muscle strain of the heel'.
Whatever the true injury may be, the Cowboys are obviously not concerned with any lingering effects or possible setbacks, and will likely give Cooper his full load of work in preparation for the Giants.
Like his offensive teammates Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott, Cooper is also in the midst of contract negotiations for an extension with the team.
Considering the Cowboys traded a first-round pick in the trade with the intent for him be the team's number one wideout for years to come, that deal will likely be substantial.
Cooper has been fantastic for the Cowboys since arriving in Dallas last October, hauling in 53 catches on 76 targets for 725 yards, six touchdowns, and averaging 80.6 yards per contest in just nine games with the team.
He was just as productive in the Cowboys two playoff games as well, grabbing 13 catches on 18 targets for 171 yards and one touchdown.
The Cowboys will wrap up their preseason slate on Thursday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at AT&T Stadium.
