The story behind Cowboys QB Dak craving Wendy's while in the huddle? I smell 'Spicy Nuggets' (and a marketing ploy)

FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys' offensive huddle is a cool and confident place. And, led by Dak Prescott, apparently also a hungry place.
During the Cowboys' 31-6 Week 3 win over the Miami Dolphins, NFL Films microphones caught mentioning in the huddle his elation over the return of Wendy's "spicy nuggets.''
"Oh,'' Dak says after calling a play, "Spicy Nuggets are back. I might have to stop on the way home.''

An immediate reaction? Is this ...
a) Dak really being that loose and funny in the huddle?
b) Dak really being that hungry in the huddle?
c) Dak seeking yet another endorsement deal and having the presence of mind to begin a relationship with Wendy's just this way?
d) Dak already having forged a relationship with Wendy's ... so this is all a meticulously manufactured setup? I mean ... Is that audio even real? Did Prescott really even say that?

I leaned to d). ... Until I asked around inside the corporate side of the Cowboys. No, the team swears, Prescott did not enter Sunday with an already-formed relationship with Wendy's. Coach Jason Garrett suggests it's just a sign of Dak's looseness and "confidence'' in running a huddle. But in any event, yeah ... it's a "marketing thing'' now because within the last 48 hours, a Madison Ave.-type representative of Wendy's has reached out to the Cowboys, who have put the PR firm in touch with the people who handle Dak's marketing stuff.
So maybe Dak didn't briefly ignore the importance of the game with the intent of gaining free Spicy Nuggets for life. But it might work out that way.
The beauty of what we do here is that this week in the Cowboys locker room here at The Star is, we will simply ask Prescott himself.
Or maybe he'll show up in front of his locker wearing a Wendy's cap and a Wendy's T-shirt while toting around a bag of Spicy Nuggets.
And then we'll know that without any preconceived intent on Dak's part ... Well, these PR firms move fast.
