Dak Prescott's Dallas Cowboys vs. Matthew Stafford's Rams: Oddsmakers Predictions

After a week off, the Dallas Cowboys welcome the Los Angeles Rams to Arlington - here's what oddsmakers say about the spread, line and over/under.

The Dallas Cowboys are fresh off their lone bye week of the season and will carry a 4-2 record into Sunday's matchup against the 3-4 Los Angeles Rams inside AT&T Stadium.

Dallas carries momentum from last Monday's 20-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, while the Rams fell 24-17 at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers this past Sunday.

Oddsmakers are expecting the Cowboys and Rams to repeat these results again in Week 8, with BetMGM placing Dallas as 6.5-point favorites. The over/under has been set at 45.5, and Cowboys' money line is -275.

The two teams met last year, with Dallas taking a 22-10 victory over Los Angeles in Week 5. Cooper Rush started the game under center for the Cowboys while Dak Prescott recovered from a thumb injury.

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard took eight carries for 86 yards and a touchdown in last year's game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard took eight carries for 86 yards and a touchdown in last year's game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Prescott has faced Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford twice, with both matchups coming while the latter started for the Detroit Lions. Prescott is 2-0 against Stafford, though the wins were in 2016 and 2018.

Stafford won the first two games he played against Dallas but hasn't experienced much success since, losing each of his last three outings by a combined 35 points.

The Rams boast a pair of the NFL's most productive receivers, with former Triple Crown winner Cooper Kupp joining rookie sensation Puka Nacua to give Stafford two difference makers on the perimeter.

Los Angeles' run game has taken a hit of late, as it traded Cam Akers to the Minnesota Vikings prior to Week 3 and placed Kyren Williams on injured reserve last week. Still, the unit remains middle of the pack in the NFL, ranking No. 15 with 112 rushing yards per game.

Defensively, the Rams rank 13th in yards allowed per game (326) and 14th in points allowed per game (20.1).

And so, Los Angeles presents an all-around steady but perhaps unspectacular opponent for Dallas - but the Rams have proven they're more than capable of putting up a strong fight.

Coach Sean McVay's team has lost only one game by more than one possession - a nine-point defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles - and all of its four losses are to teams currently no worse than .500 this season.

The Rams are 4-2-1 against the spread on the year, while the Cowboys are 4-2. Which will budge?

Only time will tell - but Dallas appears poised to hit the field as convincing favorites against Los Angeles when the two sides kick off at 12 p.m. CST.
