'It's My Time Now!' Dallas Cowboys CeeDee Lamb Reveals 'Next Challenge' Ahead of NFL Playoffs

Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb has taken all before him this season, en route to having one of the best years in franchise history.

Through 16 games, Lamb has surpassed the single-season reception and yards records set by Michael Irvin in 1995 (111 receptions for 1,603 yards) as he now looks to establish himself as one of the best receivers in the game.

And he has worked incredibly hard to be able to put himself in that conversation.

“I work my tail off to be that and to say that confidently," Lamb said. "So just having that ability and it's harder to stay [there] it's good to be elite. But how consistent and how long can you be is the next challenge. ... I'm looking forward to it, can't wait.”

Lamb's trajectory to the WR1 spot wasn't smooth sailing as there have been question marks over whether he was "that guy" to take over from Amari Cooper. In his first year as Dak Prescott's No. 1 weapon, Lamb totaled 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns as he grew into the role.

But this season, Lamb's 1,651 yards and 10 touchdowns could see him earn All-Pro honors. As far as Lamb not feeling like a true No. 1 last season, compared to this year?

“It wasn't my time then, it's my time now," he said.

Such has been Lamb's season, there has been Offensive Player of the Year talk as his name has been mentioned along with Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill and San Francisco 49ers running back. Christian McCaffery.

But when it came to his choice for Offensive Player of the Year, Lamb thinks McCaffrey deserves the accolade while adding, "If you want to throw my name in there, that's cool too."

So while Lamb is having one of the best Cowboys seasons in history, that humility keeps his feet on the ground as the work isn't finished yet. With his record-breaking season that includes catching 122 catches for 1,651 yards (both single-season franchise records), he still has one game to go against the Washington Commanders.

Such is what is at stake for Dallas in Week 18 with the No. 2 seed and the NFC East title up for grabs, the starters are likely to see a lot of work and that could mean Lamb could make sure HIS records remain untouched for as long as Irvin's were (nearly three decades).

Lamb has a chance to put an exclamation mark on his already impressive season on Sunday and help the Cowboys clinch the division and the No. 2 seed at the expense of their rivals ... and perhaps solidify his Offensive Player of the Year candidacy as well.

Lamb's time as one of the best receivers in football isn't just "now," it is just beginning.
